FYI

I am pretty sure the car is in the Pekin , IL area.
You would have to register at the site of the link to contact the poster.

I have no financial interest or other knowledge of this car.....just passing this along.

I posted a link back to this website, encouraging the nephew to join up and enlist the help of, among others, Steve Byers.

A 1963 BJ7 with what looks like 13,000 miles and unrestored shouldn't be very hard to sell.

Thanks Randy, BTW how about changing your signature pics with some new one's of you driving on the beach or with some palm trees? I'm envious, how do you decide which car to drive?

That picture is kind of old; that's the parking area of the condo we moved out of in 2005!

My driveway 2006-2012:

Deciding which car to drive isn't hard; if it's raining, I take the black one. If it doesn't matter if I'm late (and won't have to leave the car unattended for long) I can take the Healey, and if there's something "suspect" with the black car, then I drive the gray one__easy!

I might use this picture for my signature here, just have to crop it and insert my E-mail address (Manatee River in the background_this taken on our sub-division's property):

Thanks for passing this along, and thanks Randy Forbes for the link.

I am the niece of the car's owner, and while I am in Pekin IL, the BJ7 is actually near Schaumburg IL

My bad, I thought Morbid denoted the male gender...

Welcome though, and if you like GRM/CM, you should get along with the members here just fine.

You may wish to contact the Austin Healey Owners Club in Illinois.

They may have someone local who can help you decide on value.

In any event, your car looks nicely original and has had low usage. It is a desirable car with a fair amount of value. Randy's estimate in the $30K range is probably pretty close.
Don't let anyone tell you "it's just and old car and not worth much".

I'd put it on eBay with a, oh, $35K reserve. You just might get a few bidders with a particular passion for this model Healey with its provenance and low mileage. I wouldn't be surprised to see it go for over $40K. Even if it doesn't sell, the high bid will give you a good idea of the market.

There is new interest in well-preserved, original cars (the antithesis of over-restored 'restomods'):

Thanks for the link, I'll pass it along.

I'm not one to believe anyone when they say 'it's just an old car...' Very few vehicles are 'just' an old car, most are awesome for some reason or another
