3 point Seat Belts - Installation

Good day all,

For the sake of safety, I purchased 3-point seat belts for my 1958 BN4. The mount of the shoulder strap is non-standard for this vintage, as you know.

I am seeking suggestions to determine the best location of the shoulder strap. I am considering drilling a hole on the wheel wells next to the jump seats but not quite sure where, exactly, to drill.

If anyone has installed a 3 point belt, I am open to suggestions... Pictures would help. Thanks

Well young fella the 1967 BJ8 cars use a single fastener on the wheel arch and I am sure there is at least one car owner on the forum that can put up the factory manuals location for the fastening bolt.--Fwiw--Keoke

I believe that the factory service manual has detailed drawings of the BJ8 double bolt mounting system on the wheelwells. You can purchase the tang that fits this system, then have it integrated into your belt.

Keoke and Cutlass,

Thank you for the direction.

I was reviewing my AH Restoration Guide and lo and behold, there was a picture of an early 3000 with the shoulder strap bolted to the wheel-well at about the midpoint. The interior is close enough to my BN4 to show how it will look. I will use this as a reference as I drill a hole...

Thanks again...

I installed 3 point seat belts in my BN6.
Hope these pictures help in your drill locations.
