Just in case anyone was looking for a 3 cyclinder, 2 stroke, 1966 Svenska Aeroplan Aktie Bolaget. Yes I said a Svenska Aeroplan Aktie Bolaget..OK SAAB..WOW...don't see these often..at least rolling let alone running...some history too!!!

I must be lucky. I see them quite routinely, on the road and at the tracks.
 
DKW also had 2 stroke cars.....

I had one of those Saab wagons 25 years ago, I never did get it to run right !
 
Eric Carlsson had a lot of success with them winning the RAC rally and Monte carlo rally
 
The last Saab 2 stroke I saw was in a Formula S car at Lime Rock. (Formula S was a class of open wheel cars similar to Formula Juniors that used only Saab engines. It never really got off the ground.)

I can't remember the last 2 cycle Saab I saw on the road. I've seen a few Sonnets and "96" style cars but am pretty sure they all V4's.

DKW engines were used in a few very successful small specials back in the late fifties.
 
Beleive it or not, there is a DKW Club of North America. I learned to drive in DKW. It was interesting going to the gas station and reminding the attendant to put a quart of oil in the gas tank. Mine, a 1963 is awaiting restoration- maybe next summer after the wife's Spitfire is complete.
 
I learned to drive stick in my dads 58 DKW - I then bought a 71 DS19 wagon - the two oddest cars in town in the same driveway!
 
I had a 93B eons ago.

If you look at the video link below, you'll see a SAAB Formula "S" like the one John mentioned (maybe the same one).
It's a yellow open wheel car and I pass it during the first minute of the video.
This vid was taken from my car during a vintage race at Shenandoah/Summit Point, WV.
This Formula S is owned by a Mr. Vapaa and his son owns the Sonnet "convertible" seen in the same race.
