ahhhh I went to replace the temperature sending unit, I have manged to get the brass out of the aluminum.
but then I cross threaded the new one into the aluminum!!! please advise.

oh and dose the distributor rotor spin clock wise or counter clock wise. I cant turn the engine and look and my cat Wellington aka Duchess is not helping.

its a 67 jag mk2 3.4

steve

Tap. Clean out the cross thread by making ABSOLUTELY certain you are lined up this time!
Liquid teflon sealer on threads.
Unless you pulled them all out, you'll be okay.
Can't remember rotation. Neutral, jump the solenoid and look.

yeah i have a tap shipping in from england. sigh
as for the distributer I think Ill mount up the GoPro and then I can watch on my iphone from behind the wheel.

Well.....
Long Stroke is basically 3.4L, 3.8L and 4.2L, all having 106mm or 4.2" stroke.
Short is.....2.4L.
Oversquare.
Takes a specific advance unit.

still working on this,
i orded a set of taps figuring that would cover it but the set didnt have the 5/8s that i need yep i should check first
so now i have found i a place i can order the big 5/8ths but is Jag UNF or UNC im thinking this thing is corce.
i would not surprise me if the new part was diffent then the original they are not exactly the same maybe thats why it cross threaded in the first place.
