286 Scatter Cam Specs and Use

Will a 1275cc with 20" thou oversize pistons and standard head be good enough for the cam. I'll have to get it ground down here in South Africa as new cams cost almost the third of a decent engine rebuild.

I have the specs as follow:

no 1 and 4: 34-66/71-39
no 2 and 3: 37-63/71-39
lift: in: .32"
lift out: .329"

is it fair to assume that the max lift will be in the middle of the opening or is there some ramp up and different ramp down effect?

would I need any other info for the cam grinder?

Thx

Whoo, what a subject. No clue.

But welcome to our spot on the web.

John:

Welcome, I would talk with Dave or Phil at APT in California USA(www.aptfast.com.) I had bought my scatter cam from them as well as other mods. If they can't provide services at least they can give some sound advise.

There is also another member of the forum who is very knowledge, that would be Hap at https://www.acmespeedshop.com

All of the above is mentioned with any affiliation or solicitation.

Also, some flow issues with the cylinder head should be addressed as well.

Patrick
