Has anyone ever replaced the seats in a 280i? What other seats will fit, looking at Momo, recaro or something…. Any ideas?
 
I've put a Miata driver seat in mine and will put the passenger seat in if I ever get a weekend without a threatening hurricane. If you do, make sure you get some with speakers in the headrest. Let me know if you want more info. Grady
 
I put a set of Miata seats in mine too. Adapted the seat to the TVR track so it bolts in stock. Much more comfortable and because the seat profile is lower I get a little more clearance betwween my legs and the wheel.

There were 6-7 when I bought mine last month. Toyota MR2 (1st gen) will fit too. I have a set if oyu are interested in gerey/black.
 
I have a set of Miata seats for my 280i (one of my less adventurous projects.) The higher back is much more suited to my frame than the stock items. No OEM seats are cheap, and Miata ones are no exception, but there's plenty to be had at Mazmart in Atlanta (just down the road from my work - nice guys.) Don't bother with their website or email just call them on 1-800-221-5156 or 770-455-4848.
 
Thanks, they are only a couple hours from me. It would be worth the trip down when gas prices get better. Looking for black leather with speakers.
 
Black is easy as this was the most popular factory fit Miata interior color. Not sure how common leather and/or speakers were/are. Mazmart's owner stopped in today to give me some specialty electrical connectors he had found I had mentioned wanting (another project!) He confirmed they have plenty of Miata seats. I did not think to ask about leather/speakers, but they are only a call away.
