Welcome back JB! Will Binabox be ready for the show next month?

She'll be ready for the ABCS 3rd weekend of September, not sure she'll be ready for the Kansas City trip over Labor Day. And if not, oh well. I'll drive her banged up or take Emma.

Just a battle scar at this point, anyway! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Jaybird-

Congrats on a great trip, bummer about the fender ding.

BUT....................

Am I reading correctly the number 2500 miles?
Or is it a typo and should read 250 miles?

I was not aware these old British cars were capable of
more than a few hundred miles before they break down and
require major repairs. I think my all time record is about
70 miles continuous before the car broke down

Is the 2500 miles correct? Just wondering.

tinster

Ah, Tinster!

Many of us have driven that far just to get to a car show!

I've done it in both my 1978 MGB and my 1969 MGC!

You gotta have faith!

Where did you cross into Canada, and then again out? Was your route the 401/403/QEW?
This is the main route across southern Ontario, and passes about 15 miles from my front door. If you, or anyone else wants to see this part of the world, I'm pretty well centered here and have lots of maps and connections.
Feel free to stop by or contact me

Dave, we crossed into Canada at Marine City, running country roads from Grand Rapids - took the ferry. What a beautiful area along the river there. We stayed the night at Mark & Judy Jones in Corunna, along with Paul & Mary Coxon who live in Bradford. Another couple, Kim & Laura live in Sarnia.

From there, we ran the country roads and 3 most the way to Niagara Falls, Canadian side of course. Then crossed back into the states up from Niagara proper at Lewiston.

I wish we would have known we were so close!!

J.B. Glad to hear you had such a good trip. I'm still kicking myself for not being able to get to Corning to visit. Oh well... someday.
Did you guys try Spencers?
GLad to hear you got a good sampling of N.Y wine. We've got some goooooud shtuffff roun here.
Couple of my favorites are Hazlitt vinyards "Red Cat" and this fairly new "Lab"brusco called "Chocolate Lab".. I can't think of the winery right now (it's in Hammondsport) but it tastes like a chocolate covered cherry. mmmmmmmmm. Just a treat wine.
SOme time you guys really gotta make the run in Sept. for the Watkins Glen Vintage race. Its LBC nirvanna!

Number3 highway runs across the south end of Tillsonburg, which means you were about 1 mile from my home. Next time you just have to show. Annie and I always have wine, and we know every good restaurant within 50 miles.
Glad you enjoyed your trip, and I hope all of Canada was good to you.
Dave

Yikes!! Glad it was only a fender bender that shouldn't be to bad to fix. I'm glad your trip was less stressfull than mine in my truck. I just got back up to flatsville and in 2000 miles almost had 2 bad wrecks 1 in vegas and the other in salt lake and saw a small car get absolutely destroyed by an idiot in a semi just west of Jamestown ND. Rear ended the car infront of it hard enough to send car parts flying all over the highway and what was left of the car went flying and I mean flying off the highway.

Ack - no one was hurt and you've had the requisite 24 hours to stop shouting. Time to get it fixed /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Congrats on the trip btw.

My lips are zipped! Its these darn fingers that keep causing problems.

Well, technically nothing happened during the trip. It was the next time I tried to get the car out of my driveway that was the problem.

My car, on the other hand, seems to have no problems with going on strike when and where ever we are. It must not like being rode hard and put away wet or something. Either that or it's having allergic reactions to new parts /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
