Both in France and in Italy.... Remember Colin's problems with the three lug wheels? A long time ago, but something related to this topic.

It was with the 23 which as presented had 4 wheel nuts on the front and 6 on the rear. Changing to 4 all round did not satisfy the French scrutineers - the Lotus would almost certainly be favourite for class and efficiency honours - so Chapman vowed never to go back, and never did. A great pity, considering the earlier successes they'd had with the Eleven and the Elite.
 
That allowed him to concentrate on F-1 and Indy, IMO... and led the way to winning fifty Grands Prix before Enzo got to. And in half the time. :devilgrin:
