2006 Missouri Endurance Rally -- April 1-2

It was a great ride and a glorious day, wasn't it? We were rookies too, the only ALL female team. Stef had one endurance rally under her belt. We finished 3rd (timewise which doesn't mean beans) and 11th mileage wise. We had a perfect day though, Emma ran superbly, the weather was amazing, the roads were outstanding! Was a winner for me!

Going to do the Lake Tour in August and Abingdon in October? It's rather addicting, I'm hooked!

"Rather" addicting?!

Man...it's better than, well....you fill in the blank!

aRick and I had another great run...and Friday nite's debauchery kicked it up a level! We'll have to "manage" to get to St.Louis every year about rush-hour...makes the stay on the Illinois side quite, er, interesting! And the Filet and Lobster at Dierdorf and Hart for our protein load really hit the spot!

Robert picked some great checkpoints and one really crappy one...the rallye teams are still "crying" about it *a campsite on the Trail of Tears...that NONE of us found on the first attempt!)

We didn't concour this year (we came in second, though!)..but we REALLY had fun!

Come on out to the Grand Lake Tour near Madison, WI the third weekend of August (the TwoRick's triple-dog-dare you!) and the Abingdon Trials in October out of Jefferson City, MO!

WE'll get YOU hooked, too!

Have a little trouble with Hazel Creek Rick?

1.58 Hwy 8 (go straight across the highway, then about 30' right of the cattle gate, to the old road bed.) - 2+ Lost Creek (knee deep, then your first big hill) - 3.42 County 601 - 5+ Machel Hollow - 5.6 County 603 (Hwy 8 is 1.2 miles to your left) - 7.8 FS 2514/Co.603 junction (This road intersects Co. 603 by a sign which marks the Timberline Savannah. Hwy 8 is about 2.7 miles north on 603. Timberline Lake is about 1 -2 miles west (right) on FS 2514, then south on a spur) - 8.0 FS2249 (this ends an ugly clear cut and begins a great rollercoaster section.) - 9.3 Snapps Branch (shallow creek marked with wooden signs, followed by a switchback climb up and over a ridge) - 9.86 Confusing junction with atv trails, just after a double creek crossing, take a SHARP left. (Double back if you don't see an OT marker pretty soon, or if you pass an old grave stone on your left after 100 yds or so.) - 13.8 Hazel Creek Campground.

Rick/Janel- Is there still a sports car club in Jeff City? Believe it was the "Show Me State" SCC. I belonged in '61-62 & have wondered if it is still operating. If I look hard enough I can probably find a jacket patch or dash plaque burried in my "stuff" collections.

Not sure, but I'm sure Rick would know or could find out!

I'll try to find out about the car club in Jeff City.

As for Hazel Creek...we found the sign for the camp ground with NO problem. It was determining which of the roads to take to get to it that posed the difficulty!

The State of Misery spent a bunch of money with a very nice sign, routed on each side...BUT NO FRICKIN' ARROW TO POINT TO THE ROAD ONE NEEDED TO TAKE!

All part of the fun of doing one of these rallyes.
