2003 Disco II tranny problem

Fired up the Disco II and both the Manual Mode and Sport Mode lights are flashing together. The owners manual says this indicates an electrical fault with the automatic gearbox. You should seek qualified assistance urgently.

Anyone have experience with this condition or know what it really means or how to fix it?

Jim,
Try disconnecting the battery, this will reset the computer. It usually will work. If not, seek help.

On the newer DIIs battery will not reset trans faults, also OBD2 only does engine. Find a local shop that has AutoLogic or Rovacom systems. Shops in US can be found on RangeRovers.net this also includes DIIs.
