I'm still trying to diagnose a smoking problem (thinking it's carb related) so I took the car (BJ8) out for a spin this morning...got towed back.
Narrowed it down to the distributor. Pulled the rotor out and it smelled burnt, like burnt windings in an electric motor. I remembered a discussion here re: bad rotors so I changed it out with new one and she started right up.
I would have been scratching my head for days if it wasn't for the knowledge you folks offer up here. THANK-YOU!
I've also purchased a new voltage regulator. Can anyone tell me how to flash it? The terminals are marked E-D-WL-F-B
