TR2/3/3A 2-speed wiper switch?

I found an old post and have a question.
The DR3 motor was the 2 speed wiper option for the sidescreen Triumphs. What does the SWITCH look like for that motor?
The normal Lucas 31434 push-pull switch won't do since there is only one "ON".
And does it fit in the 31434 hole in the facia?

Its basically the same as the two-position pull switch for the lights.

For connection instructions see the article on this on the BCF Front-page.

You have to connect TWO wires to ground at the same time!!

Here's a shot of the switch from the Lucas catalog. I don't believe it will fit through the same hole as the single-speed switch, nor in the location at the top used for the single speed wiper switch on cars with a rheostat for the dash lights.

If you find one, let me know. I've got a 2-speed DR3 in a box somewhere, but not the switch for it. FWIW, I think Alan is mistaken (probably thinking of the 2-speed DR3A). The DR3 has 6 different wires coming out, and the switching is more complicated than just grounding two of them.

The DR3A only has 3 wires and as noted, one is grounded for low speed, two for high speed.

I don't know if the switch is the same, nor have I taken time to diagram out the connections and verify they make sense. But I suspect this article about replacing a DR1 with a DR3 has enough information to wire the DR3 from scratch:

Here's a shot of the wires sticking out of mine:

You just have to join the wires together in the right way and a DR3A type switch will work fine.
The article on the BCF Front-page will explain all this.

I bought used switches from an ebay dealer in the US.

These switches tend to fail and I have lots like this. You can dismantle and fix them but its FIDDLY in the extreme.

Aha ! The information on that page looks like just what I need. Won't be certain until I get back into the garage and spend a little quality time with the motor, but it looks very encouraging.

Thanks, Tom !

Randall,
That's your answer to info from a 2007 post but that link is no longer valid.
1. Did the wiring info work for you?
2. If it did can you PM me a copy.

I still haven't found the switch but thanks for the photo
