The black car was a CPO, we got it at 1-1/2 years old (11/00) with 5400 miles; the original owner bought the hdtp from the dealership after delivery (cost about $2600.00).

I ordered the gray car (new) with the optional hdtp fitted at the factory, at a cost of $1900.00__a better deal!

BMWNA may still have Z4 hdtps, they only recently discounted (heavily) the Z3 tops to clear them out. I expect they'll do the same for the Z4s at some point.
 
I checked with BMWNA and they did have one for my car but they were asking $6500!! Plus when you add the two required mod kits at $129 each it's a little pricey for me.

Just curious, do you keep the softop in the car when you add the HT?
