1. I have been Driving my 76 Midget alot lately. I have been watching the oil Pressure gauge for the last few days. when i start it cold it runs at about 60 Psi. the hotter the motor gets the less pressure i have. i drove it to work the other day which is about a 30 mile trip. by the time i got to work the psi was just barely at 20 while driving and at zero while at light. the motor seem to run well. it doesn't over heat. the motor sound good. what can be causing the drop in Pressure

2. On been putting a new a-arm on my 75 Midget and i have installed all new parts. i finally got it together to day and the wheel stick out at the top . the camber is so far off it stupid. it looks to me like it need to be adjusted at the lever shock. which is very loose and has no life left. how to i adjust this. the wheel is sitting like this( / ) .
it need to be like this ( | )

#1 your oil pump went away I think, I have the same prob. Engine is now ready to pull monday.

#2 The Trunnions are in backwards. Moss page 34 item 4a.

1. Check and see how much oil you have splashing around the rockers. A worn shaft is fairly common on the 1500, and can cause exactly the same symptoms. It's easier to check that first than arbitrarily change the pump.

2. Ask Jack how he knows about the trunnions being backwards. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

No no, I will never tell or admit to that, oh wait there are pictures. Sure is strange looking.

I think very good advise it to change the oil pump when engine is out unless you have 60 cold and 20 hot idle.

If the engine is out, I will usually change the oil pump, unless it's fairly new, and the engine is out for a clutch change, or some other issue. Cheap insurance to my mind.
If it's high mileage, it gets a heart transplant regardless of the oil pressure.

Yep, for sure, I just could not get a pump at the time, duh.

I kinda thought it might be an Oil Pump issue. is this a hard job todo with the engine in. i know it requires pulling the pan. How do i check rocker splash?

The trunion is most likely my problem. not a hard fix at all. i have to take it back off to change the lever shock anyways.

Just check and see if you have oil gushing out around the rocker arms, instead of a very small dribble. Gushing is not good. You'll have to start the engine with the valve cover off, so be prepared.
All you have to do to the trunnion is remove the through bolt, rotate it 180 degrees, and reinstall the bolt. That's the only bolt you have to disturb for the job.
I've never done a pump on a 1500 with the engine in the car, but if you can get the pan off, it's only three bolts to drop the pump. You will have to be careful installing the new one, to make sure the slot on the pump shaft engages the drive gear. Other than that, it should be a piece of cake. Make sure the thrust washers are in place and in good shape while you're there.

I'll check the rockers. i needed to change the valve cover gasket anyway so once again it be a good time.

just thought i let you know the trunnion worked. ia actually got to drive the red mG around the yard. it was pretty scary with no brakes and barely a clutch

Well, once you get the brakes and clutch up to snuff, the real fun begins! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
Glad you found the trunnion issue to be the easy fix I knew it was.
Jeff

Yeah now i i need to worry about getting a title for it. I know your supose to work on a car after you get the title issue figured out. but i figured if all else fails i can sell it to a Georgia Person.

If you have a Bill of Sale it is doable almost any state. But it will be registered as a 2008 or what ever.
