+2 master cylinder

Anyone have any idea if the Elan+2 master cylinder was used on any other cars? My interchange manual doesn't list any other vehicle, just a Girling part number. The GT6 MK3 seems to be a close match, but the price is thru the roof.

Hiya Jody.
And which of the +2 chassis. By number yours looks to be a late car, still dual servo? Not near mine just now but will look soon for more info.

Hope this helps, Russ

The brakes are dual lines. My problem is that not many parts places recognize the Girling numbers, they ask what car it's for and I'm trying to by Lotus parts at a MG prices and availability. They rape you on most Lotus parts as it is.

Have you called RD Enterprices? I find Ray to be as reasonable as you can get with Vintage Lotus parts. Girling prices should be about the same anywhere. The problem comes when the part number is no longer made. My Elan was retrofited with an older Datsun dual master cylinder. I've seen them on eBay, but I wouldn't go that route unless you have to. You could also try a Wilwood master, but I don't think you'll save much money. Try the wanted section on LotusElan.net

Yes, I talked to Ray. I thought of changing to a different MC, but in the long run I may just have to bite the bullet and pay the $40 + shipping for 3 rubber washers and a tip valve. Beside I have already invested in a spare MC. Thanks to evryone for the help!
