Hospital wants $2,500 for the two or three hours I'll be on the table to get scoped...and that's the discounted rate.

I told 'em no thanks, I'll die first.

There are plenty of small clinics that do it.
It is such an everyday procedure now it is small potatoes to them

I've tried, problem is they won't take you unless you have insurance. According to them cash customers usualyl opt out of any biopsy work so it's not "worth" their time... I told them if I need it, I need it so what's the problem. The whole thing seems like a racket bacause it certainly isn;t about keeping folks from dying. The one guy who would take me needs to do it in the hospital thus the $2500.

You also need to remember where I live, not a whole lot of places to choose from to begin with.

What really bugs me is, "Your money... or your life"....

Mine's done in a clinic...but they have to bring an anesthesiologist in from the hospital.
IBS requires fully OUT to do it or they can't hold you on the table. They tried first time.

Looks like around $3000total now from a clinic. That's still too high.

I know the view isn't pretty but that still seems like a lotta cake.

How old were ya and how long did you neglect it?

Sounds like you're just trying to hedge your bets. Knowing what I know today, I would have gladly paid three grand to prevent all the radiation and chemo treatments, along with the surgery and afterward results, including a lot of pain, which I still have.
 
Another question, though I don't want to talk you out of this, is .
How well do you really know your family history.
