I have a beautifyl xjs but do not have an owners manual. I need to put hydraulic fluid in for the convertible top to go up. I have no idea where the fluid goes. i think it is somewhere behind the passenger seat. I am a helpless woman when it oomes to this car. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, Rita!

Post your question over in the Jaguar section, and I'm sure you'll get lots of help.

There should be a hexagonal filler plug on the system reservoir under the battery compartment lid inna trunk. Your reservoir should be a round white translucent barrel-lookin' thingie, with level marks on it for "LOW" and "FULL"... The fluid should only be sourced from the local Jag dealer, too. Some folks have put ATF in there, I don't think that's a good idea if you plan to KEEP the car.

Segue over into the Jaguar forum on this site and ask this question there. Lots of other Jag folks, you'll get proper advise, and quickly.

I was just down in Miami over Easter, too... wonderful weather for the weekend!

Welcome to the BCF Rita! (You are not by any chance a meter maid are you?)

I think the refill for that should be in the trunk where the battery is located. You should see a reservoir with a fill plug up top. Be sure to check with your local Jag dealer for the proper fluid.
