Has anyone replaced/repaired heater core on a TR7. It takes a lot of patience and someone to translate english into american, i.e. draught excluder? I'm using a Haynes manual to get to it. Looking at VB replacement, it doesn;t have the long pipes to the firewall. Looks like a modification is needed. I'm also installing a tranny and twin webers. Any helps appreciated. bob

Not a fun job, but one of those "I DID IT! experiences.

I believe the draught excluder is the little flap door behind your center dash vents.

Also, the A/C model heaters are not the same as non A/C. Maybe that's the difference...

I have replaced the heater assemblies numerous times. They are not that hard to do. Pull the center council and the dash. Then from there disconnect the wires towards the back/top for the blower motor. Then drain the coolant fluid. Disconnect the AC supply & return lines. The heater assembly is held in by bolts on the transmission tunnel and brackets and dont forget the two nuts on the fire/bulkhead wall just above the transmisison tunnel. One holds the gas tank vent pipe and the other is below the coolant pipes. Then give it a yank, no tools and the seals should work free. At this point replace all of the seals and padding. If you do not plan of keeping ths AC system, if the car has AC you might want to find a non-AC heater assembly that is much lighter than the AC model or removal all the AC guts from the AC heater. If you change from AC to non-AC the molded vents for the windshiled defrosters are different between AC and Non-AC.
