MGB 1980 MGB Suspension Issue

I am restoring a 1980 MGB, and you all have been very helpful with a few other issues I was dealing with. Over the weekend while looking at the car from the rear I noticed that it is several inches lower on the left side compared to the right side (as measured from the top of each tail light). A friend of mine thinks it's probably caused by worn out bushings that go into the control arm. Does that sound right? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

More likely to be weak spring on that side. If it is inches lower, then maybe more than just the spring, but weak or broken leaf will let it droop.
 
Jim is probably correct as far as springs and not bushings being your problem. What you need to do is determine if its the front or rear springs. On a level surface jack up the front and place jack stands under the frame rails so you take the front springs out of the picture. Then measure the rear height. And the same goes for the front springs. Place the jack stands under the perch that attaches the front of the rear springs. Always check for the frame being bent up front. That could be a problem with the car sitting unlevel also. Look at the frame rails from under the fenders. The bends normally occur just behind the shock. It is very rare for a MGB shock to seize but bounce on the car to be sure they all move. Shocks do not affect ride height unless they are stuck in one position. Bob
