1978 mg midget seat belt replacement

If I had a 78 I think I'd replace them with the older style 3 point non-retracting belts.

Oh wait... :jester:

Greetings Larry and welcome!

Did you want stock replacements or something different like racing seat belts?

For stock it's a very straight forward proceedure. Simply unbolt your current ones and install the new ones. The rear is very easy to get to. I can't remember if you need to remove the seat to get to the latch part bolt.

Perhaps Rick will remember seeing he has replaced his with the earlier style.

No real difficulty, the belt is attached beside the seat base (I think you can move the seat forward enough to get at it) and beside/behind the seat top. Two bolts and Bob's your uncle. Likewise on bolt for the female end.

The only issue with the retractable seat belts is that the unit needs to be "vertical" Otherwise the little roller that snugs up the belt in an accident will bind.
