1975 XJ6/XJ6C Fuel Vacuum Attachments

Hello group,

Hopefully this will be my last post regarding my carburettor problems on the '75 XJ6C. I posted recently that my carbs had been rebuilt and I tried to reinstall them without having been the person who removed them. Due to the fact that my car has been converted to manual choke it's not immediately clear where the fuel lines are supposed to be attached (all the old fuel lines were burnt to a crisp and already off the car). If anyone has a diagram showing where vacuum lines and fuel lines were originally connected, I would appreciate some help figuring this all out. I am afraid that the few fuel lines that were still on the car have been run through metal ports that may have been coolant lines for the water/auto-choke that was original to the car. I purchased a factory carb manual with the hopes of having a perfect diagram, but this was not the case. I do not have a workshop manual for the car (my fault, just never got around to ordering it) and am anxious to start the car. If anyone has a diagram they can share, please post or email me at your convenience.

Thanks much,

Brian

Brian, Haynes has a very complete aftermarket manual for Zenith Stromberg carburetors. You need it. Look in Hemings Motor News for a Haynes manual listing.

Brian, I am having t rouble sending you a response to your last posting. If your get this, please respond and I will retransmit.

Brian since this last reply appears to have gone through, I will repeat the failed transmission. Your needs for the ZSs dual configuration are timely. I am presently working on a TR7 twin ZS that has some major problems. I will be converting it to a manual choke and must revisit the ABCs of the Zenith Strombergs. (The TR7 version of the twin ZSs is by far the most complicated of this type of application I will make notes as they pertain to your needs and be in touch. A digital of my E type ZSs will be helpful and I will include this to you. With this great website, we can solve your problem.
