While not local I used: https://www.quantumechanics.com/ in CT. They are considered by many to be the best. They rebuilt the J type OD in my 74 TR6

I can't even imagine what it would cost to mail a transmission from VA to CT. We have a good place in north Texas that does this kind of work, but its not going to be helpful for someone in Virginia unfortunately.
