My 1975 TR6 began running rough when accelerating, Thinking it may be stale fuel I drained and replaced the fuel with high test, non ethanol, still ran rough when accelerating. I replaced the plugs with new ones (x2) and with clean ones (X1) same result. I discussed this with a friend and we decided to check the distributor and lone an behold discovered that the two advance/retard springs had broken, understandably resulting in the rough acceleration. The problem is, I'm having a heck of a time finding the "proper" replacement springs, the last thing I want to do is compound the problem by installing the wrong ones. After checking with Moss, Roadster and Victoria British I found that Rimmer Brothers, does list the proper springs (sets) but they've been on back order for months. I have found springs and sets at SpeedwayMotors.com, but they provide a mired of selections, and not knowing which ones to choose puts me back in the same place of not making the correct selection, and compounding the situation. Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
