Hi all

someone told me today they saw a 4 door Lotus , the owner said it might be for sale ,

I tried to find one on Ebay and Google but did not find anything yet,

So can you tell me what it is ,
and maybe more important , does anyone care !:smile:

?? drawing a blank here on 4 door Lotus types. The only thing I can think of with a possible 4-door configuration with the Lotus name on it is an Isuzu that had a Lotus designed suspension and the car was badged as such.

I bet the true Lotusphiles will know the answer though /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I just talked to the guy that saw the car, now the story is its a 4 seater , not a 4 DOOR ,

Cortina comes to mind... so does the Elan +2

not sure if there were any other 4 seat Lotus cars out there.

If it's a hatchback it's an Elite. If it has a boot it's an Eclat.

crap I've seen those before... I was in high school the first and last time I saw one of those; mistook it for a Ferrari at the time... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Well, if we're throwing Lotus powered and/or tuned versions of other companies' platforms don't forget the Lotus-Sunbeam-Talbot and Isuzu Impulse.

But since none of them were made in '74 we come back to either Elite or Eclat.

Seems like I saw a couple of these a while back for around $2000-3000. Pretty rough shape too. Neat cars though. I'd have one, but my wife hates wedge shaped cars. It's gotta have curves for her to like it. Which leaves me open to almost all the other ones though - lol.

I know a young man, my yougest boy's age of 18. His first car, which he is in the process of sorting out, is an Eclat. Talk about your baptism of fire! I tried to persuade him to join, no luck so far.

Lotus Cortinas were all two-doors as far as I know.
