I have this 1974 Jensen i just picked up and I'm looking to start it. I need to know where to find the dual carbs air filter elements that go into the oval screens on the carbs.? So far no luck online. And also I have no keys..Is the Ignition the same as doors and Trunk same as glove box?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Those filters are an aftermarket item. Instead of trying to use them, bury them. They had a foam "filter" that would disintegrate and get sucked into the intakes. No need for air filtration until you know it runs anyway.

Does the engine turn by hand with plugs removed?

A bit of advice: before any attempt to spin it up, get info on setting it to TDC so you can replace that cam belt!

you can certainly run an aftermarket air filter - either a pancake filter

or K&N

you have the room

as you get it going (and I genuinely don't know the answer to this question) you probably need to pay attention to the smog gear on the car which could include air filters - this to get it on the road.

Thanks for info..Yes i took out plugs and soaked cylinders with PB blaster then with plugs still out Jumped starter and engine cranked good.
I already ordered cam belts
I'll order some aftermarket filters also
My big dilemma is keys
I was trying to find out if door and ignition is same? And trunk and glove box

The ignition lock was a Leyland column lock, different key for door, trunk and glovebox.

This seems to indicate more than one key

So more than likely the ignition key is by itself..
I'll have to see if I can remove ignition cylinder..I jiggle the trunk lock open but ignition would open

A little googling suggests that you might <might> be able to get a number off the ignition cylinder - they're weren't a ton of choices of differetn keys and this outfit seems to be able to cut one from the number

Any joy yet? May be a good idea to get a workshop manual from Delta Motorsports. We got one from them but invoice is dated 1982.

The Lotus 907 engine manual could be more comprehensive, too. Dave Bean Engineering may have better documentation.

The car did come with owners manual that included a fold up electrical diagram and Stereo pamphlet.. makes things little helpful..
I'll check into the shop manual..
Thanks for the info .
