Hi all. I'm a pround new owner of a 1973 TR6. I was wondering if anyone knew how I would mount a license plate to the front. New York requires a plate in the front. I down see any holes or anything. I looked in Moss and a few other online part suppliers and they don't seem to list them for my year, yet I see pictures of 73 TR6's with them mounted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jerry. There are 2 routes to take here: lurk on ebaY and wait for a factory plate holder to show up or improvise like I did. By the way, the factory holders usually auction at a very high price. Anyway, go to Lowes/Home Depot and get a couple of straight decking reinforement plates (straps). These are galvanized steel and have a series of holes punched in them. You should have 2 holes drilled through the underside of your bumper. Bolt up the end of each plate to the hole and bend the plate to match the bumper contour. Attach your license plate holder that you bought from Pep Boys or wherever through the upper bolt holes and your're done.

Good luck.
