I went with a tee I connected 3 hoses 1 to the valve cover and 1 to each carb.I capped off the side of the banjo bolt going to the canister. I still want to vent the gas tank line to the canister can I leave the other 2 outlets on the canister open or do they need to be sealed off. Thanks for any input

Either way..There should be a nipple on the bottom of the CC that was for a U-shaped hose that went to the Anti Run-on Valve.
Since you are not utilizing the ARV, fresh air will enter the CC thru that opening. So, you can cap the top nipples if you leave the bottom one open.
In other words you do not want the gas tank vent connected to an otherwise completely sealed container otherwise a vacuum will form in the gas tank as the fuel level drops, defeating the purpose of a vent.

Thanks poolboy, If I understand this right I can leave the 2 nipples on top of the cc not capped it would have the same effect as taking the u-shaped hose off the arv?

Even though you have removed the vacuum to the ARV disabling it's function, there will still be fresh air getting into the CC thru the ARV (illustrated on the left)..except during that brief interval when there is still residual oil pressure after you turned the ignition key to off (on the right minus the vacuum)...that is if you still have the ARV electrically alive.

If you smell gas from the gas tank vent coming out of those top nipples, you could go ahead and cap them...open or capped, there won't be any affect on the engine.

Thanks again poolboy for all your help.

I have some more questions the carbs and crankcase hoses are hooked up together the cc is still wired up as well as the ARV the only connection to it now is the gas tank vent line. I did not seal off the other 2 nipples on the cc. I want to check out the vacuum readings (just purchased a tester) where should I hook up the vacuum fitting on the banjo bolt do I disconnect the hose going to the ARV?

That's right. That nipple should be just the right size for the vacuum gauge's tube.
But didn't you write previously in post #1 that you removed that hose on the banjo fitting going to the ARV and capped the nipple on the banjo ?
