Hi
I am new so could really use some help. My '72 TR6 developed a weird fault. It has had problems starting for a while and recentley the ignition when turning over wouldn't cut out even with the key withdrawn.

I thought it was th esolenoid and after a battle replaced that but it wasn't the problem.

Before itry replaing teh ignition lock/switch has anybody experienced something like this?

Thanks for your help

I'd suggest some troubleshooting, rather than just blindly replacing components. Do you see that the temp and water gauges stay up, rather than falling to zero? Does the ignition lamp come on? Does the engine stop if you pull the white wire off the coil?

Are you still running points?

As I recall, the TR6 switch can split in two, front and back. There is a TINY phillips screw that holds it together. That might get you started...... or not. Do you have the workshop manual?
