TR6 1972 Tr6 ignition switch removal questions

I am trying to remove the ignition switch on my 72 TR6 and have a few questions.
1. The entire unit bolts on around the steering column. I easily got 1 bolt out from the top, but the other is recessed in the housing. How the heck does this one come out?
2. On the back of the unit there is a large rubbery like contraption that hooks on. Does this simply pull and wiggle off? I am afraid to use too much force.

1)Those bolts are originally 'shear' bolts for anti-theft purposes. That is, the heads are designed to break off when the correct torque is applied. If the one remaining bolt does have a 'sheared' head then you will have to work it out with a chisel to get the bolt to rotate.

2)There is a plastic cover that slips over the wires and holds the electrical switch to the back of the mechanical switch through simple friction. There could be a small set screw holding the electrical switch in but the black plastic cover has to be pushed back to reveal it.

Do you still have the padded 'surround' covering your switch? It has a strap that connects it to the whole switch by two screws I believe.

I have found that using a demel tool with 1" cut off wheel, you cut a screwdriver slot in the "shear" bolt, then use stubby screwdriver to back the bolt out. You can reuse those or buy new shear bolts when going back together. As SWIFT6 said, the black plastic cover slides back, then use jewelry (small phillips hd) screwdriver to remove the electrical sw.
 
Thanks guys the dremel trick did it for me. What a pain replacing that assembly. My new assembly is identical except that it has no set screw to hold the switch! Do you think the switch will stay without it?
 
I need to tighten mine...What size head are the bolts?
