I passed this car for the last couple of days sitting outside of a motorcycle shop. I stopped in and the shop owner tells me the car owner took the car to the Honda dealer to be serviced and guess what?.... they could not help him since it was a 2-cylinder motorcycle engine so they sent him on his way. It is now in the hands of the motorcycle mechanic.
It's a 4-speed, front wheel drive and 2-cylinder 600cc engine... the thing that caught my eye was the 145R10 tires.
The original all weather go-cart

How the heck did you fit in that car don? It has a rear seat, but really it's just a two seater... barely.

I've heard that most people prefer the 600 over the Z coupe.

I used to own and drive a blue 600 coupe in college. They used a 600cc air cooled motorcycle engine up front with a squirrel cage backup. The exhaust manifold gasket blew out once and burned a hole in the wiring harness ( at speed ), causing the horn & wipers to come on at once. 45 mpg downhill. I think the rear window/hatch is plastic as it wasn't rusted. Yes, there was no danger of your daughter losing her virtue inside of it unless you cracked a door. The hood came unlatched and blew back into the windshield during a blizzard, visabilty was diminished somewhat... I sold it and made 200 bucks. I bought it off an abandoned repair lot for a hundy. Great car. I sold it to buy an MGA I think. Kevin

Great pics and story. I had forgotten about these little cars. I have to go to the next micro mini car show for a walk down memory lane.

I used to go to my local junk yard and pull the rear axle, springs, wheels/tires and build motorcycle trailers.

Also used Mini rear sub-frames with rubber donut suspension for trailers.

Nice steady bidness in the early 70's.

I happened to drive past the shop where this Honda is sitting and it's still there! I guess the owner is not in a hurry to get it back on the road.

If you squint just right (and the colour helps) there is a certain Baby Gullwing Benz look to it but, my heavens it is spendy!
