Thinking of looking into a '71 -'74 Midget.
Pros & cons? (of each year).

Hehe, some are newer some are older. Why not a Bugeye they need friends as well.

'71 has the square arches. '72-'74 basically the same, with the '74 having some extra bumper bracinf in the boot, and the big rubber overriders.
BTW, they are my favorite model years for the Midget, followed by the MKI Midget.

I have a 1973 round wheel arch MG Midget restoration project car for sale. $750. Car is 95+% complete. Engine and transmission are included. They have been removed from the car for restoration. Car is locted in East Tennessee. Email if interested.

On all of them check the engine number. If it has an "H" in the middle it is a high compression (8.8:1) if it has an "L" it is a low compresion (8.3:1).

I had one "L" and it was Lil bit less powerful, could feel the difference.

IMO, for the years mentioned, the 71's had better engines, but the roundies are more attractive.

Get the round wheel arch if you can - IMHO, they're a prettier car (& I've got a '63, a '74RWA, and a '76)
