For sale, 1970 Triumph GT6+ project car, 50-60% complete, over $12,000 invested so far. Just needs final paint and re-assembly. Fully restored GT6's have recently been selling for $30,000. I currently have 4 cars undergoing full restorations. Unfortunately I only have a 3 car garage. I have decided that the GT6 sadly will have to go. It will be an easy project to finish as almost all of the hard work has been completed. $4500 of RimmerBros steel was incorporated into the fully restored body. Steel parts replaced were floor pans, cross members, trunk floor, rear valence, A post lower, inner B post lower, outer sills, inner sills, inner sill strengthener’s, sill ends, rear fenders, inner wings, and battery box. Everything, including the body and frame, has been cleaned, stripped to bare metal, and epoxy primered inside and out. Every last chassis part, body part, interior part, engine part, nut, and bolt has been cleaned, media blasted, primed, painted, bagged, tagged, labeled, and wrapped in plastic. The engine, gearbox, and rear differential, have been cleaned, inspected, and measured, see details below. The car is all numbers matching and has 68,404 original miles. This is supported by the fact that all engine measurements are still within factory stock tolerances, the original shift knob shows little wear, and the car had dry rotted Montgomery Ward tires on it with 1970’s date codes. The body will need final high build primer, blocking, and final paint. The engine will need to be honed, re-ringed, new bearings, full gasket set, and re-assembly. Has stock cam and rocker gear. Head and block surfaces appear stock, clean and flat. Gearbox shows no visible internal damage and appears clean and complete. You could choose to re-seal or rebuild, your decision. Additional needed items include right hand front vertical link, gearbox tunnel cover, rubber seals and grommets, interior upholstery, and wood dash panel. All trim and chrome has been polished and is good driver quality. The front bumper could be re-chromed or replaced if necessary. All the glass is present and the windshield is in great condition. Factory Triumph radio. Full wiring harness was unwrapped, cleaned, inspected, and then re-wrapped. Gauges were cleaned and re-sealed. Clean, rust free gas tank. POR15 applied to underside of body covered by bedliner with seam sealer to top and bottom of all seams on the body. Sound deadening material installed on interior of body tub. Four brand new tires. Radiator cleaned, tested, and painted. Have all the stainless steel trim which polished up nicely. Have tail light assemblies, lens, gas cap, emblems, door handles, locks, all in good condition. Two starters and two alternators. Original jack and handle. Seat frames and seat sliders media blasted and painted. Front brake calipers cleaned and painted. Have good rotors and drums and all associated parts. Multiple brake master cylinders and clutch cylinder. Heater core tested good, cleaned and painted. Exhaust manifold was ceramic heat coated. I have the glovebox manual, original sales brochure, two owner’s workshop manuals. I would be happy to sit down with the buyer on pickup with a roll of blue painter’s tape and label every single part. I know them all by heart by now. I have hundreds of pictures of the disassembly of the car and I will put them on a thumb drive for your reference. Clean Tennessee title. More details as follows……………

All piston and rod sets were balanced at 1095 grams each. Cylinder bores mic’d round and at the standard 2.94” + .003”-.004” (top to bottom of bore) which is within the max tolerance of .006”. The cylinder head thickness measures a stock 3.30”. With the pistons ¾ of the way down the bores I can not fit a .010” feeler gauge between. The crankshaft bearing surfaces are smooth and clean. The crankshaft bearings tolerances measure .002” (.050mm) with red plastigauge and .0015” (.038mm) with green plastigauge. The max upper limit is .002”. Crankshaft bearings removed were the stock Standard/Vandervell part # 149082/5106. Big end rod bearings removed were the stock Standard/Vandervell part # 144195/149551. The thrust washers removed were labeled with part # 144195/149551. When I initially brought the car home I was able to get it to crank and fire on starter fluid before everything was torn down and dismantled. I still have the original head gasket which showed no evidence of damage or leaking. Message me if you have any additional questions. Thanks! The car is located in Tampa, FL Must sell! Make me a good reasonable offer. If the ad is up the car is still for sale.
