Hi. I have a 69 mgb with a spin on oil filter adapter (upside down type). Trying to find a oil filter right now it has a CarQuest 85234. Narrow and tall
But every part store shows I need a shorter fatter filter. It doesn’t looks like it will fit. What are you guys running? Thanks ray

One more hotly debated topic! I like Purolator - their "Pure One" has a built-in check valve which prevents help oil pressure loss at startup, particularly if the car has sat for a while. Part # PL14670. Whichever one you choose, make sure it has that valve!

Also, it's a good idea to "chase" the threads of the filter before installation, as the MGB filter adapter is pretty soft aluminum and very easily cross-threaded.

What size bolt does it take (to clean the threads)?
I had one when I was in CA,but can't find it now.

3/4" 16 tpi - I THINK! Need to verify.

There are two (at least) filters that will work. They both are standard filters for older Fords. They have the same base, the only difference is height. I use the tall one in my 78 because: a) there is room, b) iit holds a half quart more oil, and 3) it has a greater filtering area.
