1969 Mini Parking Lights

I have asked this question else where with no results..
I installed driving lamps on the front WithOUT a relay..
All lights worked for awhile.. Then I lost the parking light
I have changed fuses,lamps,etc,etc.. I still can't get my parking lights to work...
Any Clue????

do the driving lamps still work? and are they wired with a switch or through the harness

The driving lamps......I assume that they are wired and fused seperately, and operate on their own switch? That being the case, they should not affect the parking lights.

In a Mini, aren't the parking lights part of the headlamps? Or do the front indicator lights illuminate instead?

I gather that you were planning on running with those and the driving lights on, and not have the headlamps.

Most likely suspect is the switch. First position, parking lights. Second position headlamps. Am I correct? (It has been years since I messed with a Mini, and it has an older one at that). This being the case, you should try a replacement switch and see if that works.

Thanks for the reply...I forgot to tell everyone..I also replaced the switch...I wired the driving lamps directly to the parking light harness...I now realise I made a terrible mistake but still can't find out why the parking lights don't work.. I have since disconnected the Driving Lamps all together
Thanks
Vance

I would be checking the wiring from the lights to the switch

I know this sounds silly, but make sure the "new " bulbs you tried work. I have put many new bulbs in that were bad and spent a lot of time tracing elsewhere when it was just the bulb.

I had working driving lights on my Mini without a relay and they melted the switch. I do hope you did not melt some wires but as said already you will need to trace all your wiring.

Do you have a wiring diagram?

I had driving lights on my 1100 without a relay Bruce and had them wired through a seperate switch with an inline fuse in the hot line and never had a problem
