MGB 1969 MGB No spark to plugs

Went online looking for some information and could not find much help so we are turning to you. My car has new points, condenser and distributor cap. Coil checks out good. We have voltage to the distributor and points but there is no spark at the points or the spark plugs. I am sure it is a simple problem, but what am I overlooking?

Sometime when new points are installed the insulators on the pivot post get misplaced grounding the points go back and see if this is your problem.

To elaborate on Keoke's post, if your MGB has the Lucas 25D4 distributor, its points include some nylon bushing-type washers that have to be assembled in the correct order. If you put the parts together in the wrong order the ignition behaves as if the points never open (no spark)

See the instructions in the web page linked below and make sure your assembly order is correct.

If your points look nothing like this, the distributor is probably not a 25D4. Other points types are shown further down the page.

The car has not been driven since 1991. I have not messed with points on a vehicle since the late 1970's. Your posts were very helpful. Looks like the previous owner left off the nylon washers.

Keep in mind that the 25 series distributors had points with the nylon washers. The later 45 series distributors did not have these parts and the points are very different. If the points in your distributor do not look like the ones at the start of the article I linked to above, see if they match those lower on the web page.

There cannot be metal to metal contact when assembling the points. Like he said, the points wont work. Make sure the plastic piece fits inside the hole cleanly. Don't ask me how I know.
