I have seen a enough of Phase-2 BJ8's to make me question their alignment where the two parking lights face slightly inwards to the grille. I would like to know if this is normal as some of the cars I've seen have never been wrecked and they face this way.

Can anyone advise with photo(s) showing a straight edge across all 4 lights showing their alignment to each other? My car is in it's final paint phase and tomorrow the color sanding and buffing starts so I need feedback asap. I

f you have photos but can't make the Forum photo posting work please send me a PM. I've had hit and misses trying to do photo posting here...sometimes it works easy and other times I can't make it work no matter what I do.
I appreciate the help!
Thanks,

Hi,
All the good front shrouds I've seen have the lights pointing straight ahead. Distortion of the aluminum is easy when tightening things, but I can't imagine a reason for aiming the inner light inward. The original single light cars had the lights pointing forward by design, so the concept would have been continued, in my opinion. Given the choice, even if the factory was less than quality-controlled, I'd point them straight.

The lights on my car are straight now. (as in Anderson/Moment page 163)
They were a little inwards. The white lights are a little more upfront
Seemed to depend on the way the washers were placed
Another influence was the clamp that holds the wires

Board is fairly straight. I'd say the white lights are slightly 'behind' the orange (1/16" at most), or even.IMG_0025.jpgIMG_0023.jpgIMG_0024.jpg

I think, for all intents and purposes, the four lights should be in a line. Any variation is probably incidental, and possibly due to sag, etc. on my chassis and shroud.
