I have a 1967 3000 BJ-8 which I am redoing the front kick panels. The driver side was what I expected, the panel was a hard board padded, with the vinyl glue applied around the backside of the board then the vinyl glued to the hardboard. The foam was about 1/4" thick, light blue in color. The panel was held in place by one of the bolts holding the windshield upright. The passenger side, however was glued in the same manner as the driver side, but the most rear end was glued to the metal lip where the door closes?? I also noted that the 1/4" foam was a orange color. It also was held in place by a bolt going to the windshield upright, but also had 2 ea. #4 screws with a cup washer underneath.
So what is correct? Glued to rear lip or just glued all the way around to the hard board??
Thank you in advance,
Tod
