I purchased a used British Motor Corporation AM radio for my 65' Healey 3000. It came out of a 65' MGB. I'm not able to get it to work. I have it set to negative ground, plugged in the antennae, grounded the unit, checked the fuse, and hooked it up to the speakers. I know its getting power as the light goes on in the unit. There is no sound. Any ideas?
Also, what is the small barrel-like object that is bolted to the outside of the radio? Its about the size if your thumb and has a black wire coming out of it. I connected it to the ground wire, but that didn't help.
