Just bought a surrey top replacement in Fabric, it does not have the pocket to insert the stiffeners, it includes plastic stifenners instead but it doesnt hold the hood when I insert it into the windhsield slot, I bought the metal stiffeners that have the holes in them + the rivets (refer to image).... do I have to drill the holes on the plastic stiffener attached to fabric hood.... Im worry the rivets wont fit in the slot..Please help if anyone has an image.

My 63 was a surrey car. The metal strips float in the fabric seam. I found it necessary to set
them with a soft block of wood when the top went up.Otherwise the wind would suck it up.
I dont think the diagram is at all what you need to see .Tr4A.
But if your top has no seam to hold the stiffeners I would send it back. Dont modify it or you own it.
