Well, I have pictures other places around this forum but I thought I would take another members advice and load them in 1 spot. Here is a link to most all the photos we've taken. They're backwards as in newest 1st but I don't know how to change that. Her ya go

Nice shots, thanks for posting. Interesting modification on the back bulkhead - you putting in speaker enclosures there?

ps Can't remember if you mentioned this, but are you building this one in Texas? That looks a lot like the Texas scenery around here - hot and dry..

Yes, good pick up. We cut the openings and welded boxes behind to the waterproof the back of the speakers.
And yes. It's in San Antonio at my father in laws shop.

Nice! I really like the veneer for the glove box and instrument panel...and the fork lift. Why didn't I think of that?!

Where did you attach the chains when the body suspended? The front ones were attached to the battery tie downs, where were the rear one attached?

It looks really nice! Mine has been waiting over twenty years for time, money and nerve to converge.

Echo the "nice shots"... What is the story on paint choice and color? It looks like you ended up going with Primrose, but tub interior is what?

Hi Rusty,

I like what you did on the side stiffener panels at the rear with the studs sticking out. Did you drill a hole, feed through a bolt and spot weld it there before putting in the close out panels?

Car looks great.

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd

Nice.....it is the color I want to recreate if it is indeed Primrose Yellow. Which paint did you use and do you have the code number? I also noticed that you sealed your transmission cover.....what did you use for that?

I also see a wire taped down on the drivers side, I believe, what is that for?

So tell me it took more than a year to get to that point, Right!

The color is a 60s VW color "mango" or as close as we could get. I believe it is a little greener than the primrose. I can dig up the exact name brand and color codes if you need them.
The interior is just a black as it will be covered with interior carpets and panels.
The wires taped down are speaker wires for the installation of rear speakers. The wires terminate in the glove box for an iPod install so no radio will be visible.
I wasn't there when he lifted the body but I can only assume he put eye bolts in the rear somewhere to attach the chains

Thanks for positive feedback, this has been 5 years in the making and I cant wait to drive it.
