Rear wings have 5 flat black, fine thread fine thread screws that go along the top at the boot level. Have the screws (not shown in the parts book) do they need lock or flat washers? Or both?

Thanks Tinkerman

I've only seen them with no washers. I even tried adding washers, but then you have clearance problems with the boot lid.

Thanks John and Marvin. I gave that some thought but not enough. Makes sense though. Gotta love the Forum!

Thanks, Dick

Dome headed screws.

Thank you.

I noticed that when I looked at Macy's Rear wing attachment kit.
Where does the short piece with the cage nut go on the car. I see where the lower support goes but see no evidence of the other part. It is about 2 1/2" long with a 3/8" turn up on one end and a cage nut on the other end.

It's the rear-most hole. All I can deduce is that the long tab on that nut is to either help installation or to spread the clamping over more area.

Hi David,

Borrowed this picture. You can see the little clamp piece in place

The real name for the 5 screws that go inside the trunk lid on each side are called "TRUSS-HEAD" screws. They are domed like Tush says - but they have a very shallow domed head.
