Long ago I posted I was converting 1 of my 3 TR-3s to a V8 and some asked for photo. This is my first photo post so I hope it is here when I submit. This photo shows a much larger radiator and I have closed off the area around the radiator hoping that the air that comes in the grill opening must go through the radiator. This all started with the desire to have an automatic transmission for my wife and 3 daughters. They drive my Porsches with stick but don't relish shifting in Atlanta traffic. So the conversion started with a Chevy V6 automatic but then my son convinced me he needed more power and a V8 came into the picture. The car will be his someday. This car was my first car bought for $200 and built from a wreck in the 60s. Mustang front with coil overs, Curry 355 posi rear with 4 link. BIG brakes.

I have some of the inner fender wells cut out to allow for the larger shock (coil over) towers. I want to avoid a hood scoop if at all possible. The engine is a tight fit and I moved the firewall back. The battery is now inside the right rear fender behind the wheel/tire. The rear fenders were made in England-fiberglass and several inches wider than original. I have a strong electric puller fan as well. Goal is to look stock except the wider fenders which frankly look to the non-Triumph experts as original. There are two tail ppipes sticking out the rear (unavoidable). And then there is that Lokar auto shifter.

To add a little humor. When we were doing the suspension work I had the gas tank out. We beefed up the frame with cross members, one of which (of course) was right where fuel came out of the gas tank. So I had to have the tank modified. Always something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope your son is 40 years old, that sounds like a disaster wating to happen, heck I am 51 and just got a 57 in a 35 ticket in my TR6 You just cant help youself and we have no brains till we reach 40 and still get into trouble

I think he has all that out of is system. He may hold a record for highest speeding ticket in a certain county in GA. He was driving the Porsche a little fast and got to experience a rather rough arrest, cuffs, the back seat of a police car, the rest of that day in a cell and half a year of walking!
