TR2/3/3A 1960 TR 3 A post 60,000 part needed.

I purchased two reproduction door latch assemblies from one of the national supply houses (they all sell the same part probably bought from the same supplier). Nice quality, looks good. However, there are some parts missing. It seems that no one makes the missing parts. The parts are the link, spring and door operator link. I have the old ones that came out of my car and the passenger side items are fine and useable. On the drivers side the door operating link (my terminology) is a backwards l shaped piece made of pot metal. Mine is showing large wear problems, not sure it will even work.
If anyone has an old one that they are not planning on using I would be happy to buy it from you. It has to be the drivers or left side unit because they are handed.

PM me with any questions you might have.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tinkerman

Check with Marvin Gruber, he seems to have a little bit of everything.

Evening fellows, I still need the handle to latch linking parts for my car. The ones I have for the drivers side are pretty well worn to the point I'm not sure they will work.
Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks, Dick

Dick is there anyway you can post a picture of what you need? I have a few old latches laying around but I'm not sure what you need. I know at least one of them has a grey pot metal arm and spring on it.

Hi Keith my picture poster isn't working and I 'm not sure why. It's the pot metal thingy that I need, but it has to be for the drivers side door because the pot metsl is handed. As you are looking at the part the drivers side pot metal thingy looks like a backwards L. The passenger side looks like a regular L shape. The rest of the parts are interchangeable.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the post, Dick

I was afraid that what you needed was the gray pot metal piece. I have ruined several of them trying to get them off. They stick to the sq shaft. If you heat them they melt very quickly. I'm afraid I have to bow out on this part. Don't know of anyone that makes or offers them

Dick I think I have the part you need but I can't find my camera to confirm it. When I find it I'll post a picture, in the meantime PM me your address. Also the (L) shaped pieces I have are two pieces of metal spot welded together with a small pot metal piece pressed into it with a square hole.

Found it. The bracket on the right is for the right door, just the arm and (L) shaped piece on the left I think is for the left door. Unfortunately the piece on the left was missing the pot metal piece, so I pushed it out of the one on the right and put it in the one on the left, if that makes any sense.
