While cleaning up the wiper motor bracket for painting, I noticed the underside of the bracket may have been in a wrinkle black. Question: Is the bracket gloss black, satin black, or wrinkle black?

Interesting question. I have two original mirrors, both with identical finish. It appears to be a very textured black but not nearly as much of a wrinkle as the center dash. I'd try a satin finish on a test piece, maybe building the finish with several dry coats. Tom

Mirror? Now that's wrinkle!
Sorry, sure is. No excuse (I think I must have confused an earlier post, but maybe just a case of CRS.)

I can't remember what the paint was on the bracket supporting the wiper motor when my 1958 TR3A was new, but it was black like the rest of the car. I don't remember any krinkle black on the support. In 1989 when I had the car totally paints (all pieces off the car0 during my restoration, the support was sprayed glossy black like the inner fenders as well as the outer fenders. No points were ever docked because it was glossy blsack at TRA or VTR judged concours events.
