I follow all the eBay Healey listings and this one obviously has a sly grin - wink - wink but the exact angle/hook isn't apparent yet /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif
On the other hand, the ongoing repartee with the "Buy My BN7 for 35K and pay me whatever I want to finish it" auction is an absolute hoot /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

For fun I have emailed and followed up on some of these cars...thge stories are similar..car out of the country..they will pay shipping..money goes into 'ESCROW" not te be released until car is received..normally some one is sick, or died, or distress sale..as the saying goes there is a sucker born every minute.

healeyjag,ive done the same thing in fact i told a guy whos brother died on him and willed a 1964 corvette (realy beautiful pictures too)that i was booked on the next flight to rome italy to buy the car outright,gave him flight # and hotel info as well,15 minutes after his getting my message the vette was taken off ebay,all he wanted for the car was 25 thou.original matching numbers blah,blah,blah. go figgah! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Here's things to look out for (without any promises)...
Low number in their feedback
Feedback that hasn't been used in a while (with the low number)
<I fit both those, but im only saying that in my own defense>
Seemingly very low price for what looks like a show winner
Requiring Bidders to be pre-approved (thats usually hwne they get the info they want from you - at minimum, your personal email addy)
Very short desription with little details about the car
4 to 6 or so pictures that aren't real clear and can't be enlarged (they're going for the least amount that ebay will allow, and have taken the pics from someone elses website)
answers to any email/question will all look the same.
The story is usually - car outside the country (even though is says kentucky or the like on the ebay page), need the money, and so on.
That's about it. Luckily so far - the one's I've seen had ALL those things in them. The scammers may smarten up pretty soon though, so "buyer beware" still applies
If you see any ad like that or with just 1 or 2 of those signs, beware. Ask questions like: Can I have my friend that lives near you come look at it?
If you get the standard answer (above) then run as fast as you can!!!!

Almost everyone I have seen has been taken from a previous ebay sale or from another website so the decription can be long and photos numerous. At this point the number one give away is the price. Absurdly low.
Don't run away. Report it!!!
