1954 100-4 in my garage

Thanks for the pictures.
Just the same as mine. The two phillips head screws thru the lip edge of the boot is what had me concerned.
I do not believe it is done that way on later cars.
Mine too is missing the seal.
Build date 4 FEB 1954. Car delivered on 22 MAR 1954. I have original bill of sale. $3050 if I remember correctly.
My Heritage certificate says car was delivered with 590X16 tyres. So typos are possible.
 
My BN1 is a May build. I have no reason to doubt the bonnet and boot lid are not original. They are steel and aluminimum resp.

My old car, built May of 54 had an Aluminum hood and steel boot lid, I thought they phased out the aluminum in the boot lid before they did the bonnet, but who knows from car to car?
 
Great find! And yes the model is "100", not 100/4!
My July '54 built, steel-panelled car had a similar support bracket to britlover's but without the external screws (not necessary because being steel, it was welded to the boot-lid skin). Over the years, the skin cracked because 'bowser-jockeys' liked to lean on it while filling the tank & then thought all that was required to close the 'trunk' was to push it down. Self-service gas stations were a godsend to 100 owners. I have modified the bracket to be similar to a BN2 to correct this.
