I hope this is OK to post here. There's nothing in the "classifieds" forum, so it must not get much traffic.

We're selling the TD because we want to replace it with a B. We want some more luggage space and something for much longer trips.

Ad at: British Car Club Classified Ad

Again, hope it's OK to post this...

Best regards, Marty.

Right now, Basil hasn't uploaded the "classified" forum to the new server....when he does, I'll move this ad over there for you.

Passed the link on to my dad. He'd love a TD to replace his 69 B.. But it may be a ways outta his $$$ range.

When I try to look at the photos, this is the message I get:

Oh, lovely car lovely price. But just not the time for me. Wife would love that.

I need to bookmark those photos - that's the color we're painting our '53 TD.

hehehehehehe...because everything else on mine - to include every piece of wood - is brand new!

How about these for non-stock colors on TD's?

pant-pant-pant-pant......

WHOA!!! Shawn, those are EXQUISITE!!! I'm not ordinarily a T-series fan, but ohmgawd... I'm in th' same condition as Tony is over them two examples.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif We *hate* the owner(s), don't we?!?! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

The red one is painted to match the truck he uses to pull the car (which isn't very often actually, only on really long trips) and is a Dodge color. The charcoal car is actually one of the 50-55 cars painted a charcoal metallic silver from the factory (verified by a former Abingdon worker who helped explain some strangeness to the layers of color on the car) and I guess is listed as an optional factory color. The Abingdon worker also verified that particular color barely lasted 18 months, which is why none still exist as factory original colors. The factory color was green tinted, this one is more charcoal and is actually a Volkswagen color.

It's hard for me to hate them when they are both good friends of mine. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now, since I'm a 'rumfie', I'll show you a couple of non-standard color TR6's as well. The Aqua Marine Frost one is mine. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Sorry for the misdirection though. I'll get me coat... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Shoot keep it in the closet. Those are fine looking TRs. Worth a look any time.

Hey Shawn,

Great looking cars! I believe the TD color you are talking about is called silver streak, and is a really neat color in person.

A good friend of mine who owns a restoration shop in Colorado just did a frame off for a customers TD in that color (with red hides as original as well).

VERY cool period color, that I'm sure it fell out of vogue in the 50's almost as fast as the paint fell off the car! Funny how times and trends come full circle..

Great TR's, love the color of your car..

Regards.

Yes! That sounds like the right name. Your friend with the restoration shop. Would it be this one?
