Any ideas/tips on putting the vinyl over the roof hole we started yesterday, but my son said his wrist gave out from pulling and pounding. He started at the passenger right rear and worked down the right side and around the front, and that is when the temperature started to cool and his body began to rebel, try today as it will be 90°F, photo to follow
 
Heat is the key. My friend that restores woodies for a living always waits until it hot enough that the material will stretch and is much easier to work to be taut like it needs to be…
 
Roof is almost done, what type of glue should I use Contact cement?

This is what I was told to get for the interior of the Vauxhall - the key is that it needs to be high heat (ie full sunlight) Conventional Contact Cements aren't.

Admittedly it has been a long time since I replaced my top insert but I don't remember using any glue or cement at all. Looking at your photos, I am puzzled. Where are you using the glue?
 
Something to do with sealing the channel
