1950 Healey Siverstone

I saw that last night. Looks like several cars are being sold by the same collector. Check out the other auctions and you'll also see a 3000.

I had emailed Allan Casavant several months ago when he was auctioning on eBay one of the two (at least I think there was just the two) prototype AH 4000 models with the Rolls motor, from his personal collection. He sent me back a number of good articles on this car and the other Healey 4000 that sadly never made it into production. In the far background of one of the pictures he had posted was what I thought was an Allard - wrong! It was his Healey Silverstone.

Some guys have all the luck. I'm still using my 10 speed road bike from the 70s.

A 10 speed roadbike from the 70's is good vintage!! My son found a 70's Donniselli next to a dumpster. $250.00 later he has a real classic to ride and Mr Donniselli was amused to hear that he had a following here in the US.
Healey's are good vintage too. A lot of folks can't afford them and really envy us that have them. I'm still using my Healey since 1972. Mine just left yesterday for Jule Enterprises.

Good to hear from you - of course you're right on all counts. Vintage can be good - wines, cars and bikes. I'm feeling pretty vintage these days myself though - my "younger" wife keeps threatening to trade me in on a newer model. No respect for quality and workmanship any more...

Regards
Dave

Feeling vintage is very good!! It means you don't have to drive your Healey 100mph to appreciate it. My wife is older and there's a lot to be said for experience...knows what she wants(she hooked me and likes the Healey. LOL)
