I have a problem with my brakes, the linings are riveted (I would never trust bonded) but the rub comes with the dimensions 30mm wide by 5mm in thickness and according to small spares in England the linings are 30mm wide by 4mm in thickness, without a brake machine I would never be able to grind 1mm off the linings and keep them in tolerance over the entire surface here is there responce "
We sent you the 7W-2021 linings which should measure 30mm wide x 4mm thick and have not had any feedback back saying they do not fit.
Please advise"
Here is a set of linings for one axle with the number 7Y-103E see photo. So any ideas how to grind 1mm off the entire lining

We've a shop here that does trucking companies' brake and clutch relining, they've done our Rolls Royce brake work for years. P'raps there's a shop similar in your area? They may laugh at you for the "toy-like" shoes, but I'd bet they could do the job.
